Quality Control
Important parts need careful inspection. We use both technology and human expertise to make sure each stamped part meets your specifications and maintains the quality your brand is known for.
The Stamping Process
Metal stamping is where you take coils or flat sheets of material and form them into specific shapes. It includes processes like blanking, punching, embossing, and progressive die stamping. You can use one or a combination of these techniques to make parts, depending on how complex they are.
In this process, blank coils or sheets are fed into a stamping press that uses tools and dies to shape the metal. Metal stamping is great for mass-producing complex parts, from car door panels and gears to small electrical components in phones and computers. This method is widely used in automotive, industrial, lighting, medical, and other industries.
Metal Stamping Materials
Partzcore offers the following materials for both our standard and custom metal stampings.
Aluminum
Such as: 1100 Aluminum, 2024 Aluminum, 2024 Aluminum, 2024 Aluminum, 5052 Aluminum, 6061 Aluminum
Steel
Cold Rolled Steel(like 1008, 1010, or 1018 is popular), Hot Rolled Steel, Pre-Galvanized Steel, Annealed Steel
Stainless Steel
Such as: 301 Stainless Steel, 304 Stainless Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, 430 Stainless Steel has excellent tensile strength.
Brass
Brass 230 (85/15) and 260 (70/30) are easy to form and resist corrosion well. These brass alloys are also called red or yellow brass.
Copper
Copper alloys are ideal for stamping because they resist corrosion, are flexible. Including C110, which is an excellent conductor.
Custom
Partzcore can stamp other sheet metal materials upon request. Please contact our experts about the materials you need.
Plating Material
We offer various pre- and post-plating options for metal stamping assemblies to provide corrosion protection, electrical conduction, decorative finishes, wear resistance, coloring, bonding, and lubricity. You can choose from overall plating, select plating, or spot plating. Metal stampings can be reel-to-reel plated, barrel plated, rack plated, vibratory plated, or selectively loose-piece plated. Plating material finishes include:
- 1. Tin
- 2. Silver
- 3. Nickel
- 4. Gold
- 5. Zinc
- 6. Copper
Coating Material
Stampings may need a surface coating for insulation, environmental protection, heat resistance, abrasion resistance, and corrosion protection in electrical applications. Coatings can be applied using methods like fluidized bed dip, electrostatic fluidized bed dip, and electrostatic spray. Partzcore produces metal stampings with various coating options to meet your needs. Some examples of surface coatings include:
- 1. Epoxy Powder Coating
- 2. Polyurethane Coating
- 3. Nylon Powder Coating
- 4. Nylon Powder Coating
- 5. PVC Powder Coating
- 6. Vinyl Powder Coating

You’ve got enough worries, let us take care of your parts.
QC will verify that the part material, features, and finish are in accordance with the part requirements specified in the PDF file, CAD file, and/or STEP file.
QC will conduct an examination using precise instruments to document every dimension, attribute, positional measurement, and specification as outlined in our Statistical Sampling Strategy.
QC will conduct a thorough inspection using a Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM). This will document all dimensions, attributes, locations, and notes in accordance with our Statistical Sampling Plan.
The First Article Inspection aims to confirm that all engineering designs and specifications are fully understood, addressed, verified, and recorded. QC will keep a detailed quality log for customer oversight of responsibilities and planning. This includes conducting regular checks and audits to ensure compliance, assessing the root causes and corrective measures for any discrepancies, and investigating issues.
If your part needs additional inspections, such as Non-Destructive Testing, Serialization, Custom Sampling Plan, or if you want to use your own inspection datasheet, please let us know.
Metal Stamping Production Volumes
Our metal stamping services can handle different production volumes to suit your needs. We can do small batch orders or large-scale mass production runs. If you need a few hundred parts or a few million, we can deliver high-quality metal stampings quickly and cost-effectively.
Low volume production includes any amount up to 100,000 units. Most stamping projects need at least 1,000 units to be cost-effective for the customer. Low volume production is also useful for buyers seeking customized products.
Medium volume production ranges from 100,000 to 1 million units. This level of metal stamping offers the flexibility of low-volume orders while reducing the price per part. It also provides lower upfront costs for tooling.
High volume production includes orders of over 1 million parts. Metal stamping is very scalable and extremely cost-effective for high volumes, as it lowers the unit cost due to the price of creating custom tooling.
Short-run stamping is a low-volume production run with few tool changes. With short runs, overall costs are lower because you don’t need to change processes or equipment often.
Long-run stamping is a more complex production run with all factors adjustable, allowing for greater flexibility and optimization over time as the production line scales.
